It is one of the most beautiful palaces in the world and one of the most important and historic in Europe. It is a baroque style building with impressive gardens and period interior design.
It was the summer residence of the Hapsburgs until 1918 and today is one of the most important sights of the city.
It was built in the 18th century, on the left bank of the Danube below the hill with the Glorieta arch. It has 3 floors in the shape of a rectangle with a large inner patio. It consists of 1441 rooms plus 139 kitchens!
The rooms have been preserved with the original furniture, the paintings and all the decoration of the time. You will be impressed by the huge rooms, the ballrooms and the golden color that prevails in general.
The space in front and behind the palace is a huge and spectacular garden with marble statues and impressive combinations of flowers.
Going up, visitors reach the Gloryeta hill with the reservoir of Poseidon, from which the palace is supplied with water, a sculpture of Poseidon above and of course the arch.
Kids love the maze in the garden, for which you have to get a separate ticket.
