Milan is a beautiful city, ideal for year-round travel. It is a modern big city, with many interesting sights, impressive markets and beautiful areas.

What to see:

Cathedral Duomo in the imposing square;aid=370440

Gallery Brera, one of the best in the world

Sempione Park, a large park in the city center, opposite the castle

Navigli area, with the canal, the bridges and the many bars

Santa Maria delle Grazie, which houses Da Vinci’s famous painting “The Last Supper”.

What to eat

Try the famous creamy risotto alla milanese, osobouko alla milanese (beef boiled with vegetables and white wine), cotoletta lla milanese (looks like schnitzel), authentic Italian pizza with very thin dough, Italian ice cream pan known for its ice cream, (individual or large fluffy cakes with different flavors).

Where to stay

The city has a lot of hotels, see them all here, and choose one that is close to a metro station or a short distance from the historic city center. We stayed at Uptown Palace, a beautiful 4 * hotel near Missori Station and about a 10-15 minute walk from the historic city center.

In Milan you will find many shops of famous fashion houses. Points with shops are:

Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle, considered one of the oldest shopping malls in the world (located next to the Piazza Duomo)

Route Via Montenapoleone, with expensive shops in a row, such as Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Gianni Versace, Valentino, Christian Dior and many more.

The huge Armani store is located in Via Manzoni.

Behind the Duomo building is the department store La Rinascente

Transportation in the city

Malpensa Airport has 2 terminals (transportation between the 2 terminals is free with a shuttle bus). To get from the airport to the city center, you can take the bus or train. You will find more information here.
