Caño Cristales, the most impressive and colorful river in the world

It is located in Colombia and specifically in the city Serrania de la Macarena, in the area Meta.

It is considered the most beautiful river in the world because of its strange colors. It is often referred to as the “river of 5 colors” or the “wet rainbow”.

From late June to November, the river water has bright colors, such as yellow, green, blue, black and more red, due to the plants and the algae Macarenia clavigera that exist at the bottom.

It is a fast river with natural pools and waterfalls. The water is so clear that visitors can see the fish and the plants that are in it.
